Police and SES personnel launched a major rescue operation on Friday night after two brothers got into trouble at Bluff Knoll in the State’s Great Southern.

About 7.15pm police received a call from the two men alerting them to an emergency situation.

The men, brothers aged in their 50s and 60s, had been walking on a track near Bluff Knoll — WA’s highest peak — when the younger man experienced joint seizure in his knees and hips which prevented him from walking any further.
